Christingle Service 13.12.17 🍊

December 13th, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Today we walked to the Priory Church to take part in our Christingle Service. We spent yesterday making our Christingles. We used an orange, put red tape around the middle, added a candle and 4 cocktail sticks with sweets.

Do you know what all the different parts represent?

The orange represents the world

The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ

The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations

The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness

In the church we listened to older children from our school read parts of the Christmas Story. We sang three songs that we have been practising and then we lit our candle on our Christingles. We then had to be very sensible as we all held a flame.

A great Christingle Service!
